The EMT program is designed to educate students to the US DOT requirements to become licensed as an Emergency Medical Technician in the State of Maine, and certified by the National Registry of EMT’s. Labs include: Airway Management, Patient Assessment, Trauma Care and Medical Emergencies. Students who complete the course with a 75% average or higher are eligible to participate in the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) psychomotor exam and sit for the NREMT and cognitive exam. NREMT test fees of $80-100 are to be paid directly by the student upon registration for the test and will not be covered as part of this course fee.
You must be 16 years of age at the start of course.
Payment plans are available and assistance for applying for funding will be through HHACE partnerships with local agencies and the Adult Learner Scholarship. This course is not open to high school students that are eligible to take the EMT course at Region Two CTE through their local HS if the course is offered.
