Additionally, these two College Transitions programs will also be co-sponsoring, in conjuction with many other area  businesses, live streaming of area high school basketball games on the WHOU website this winter.

Adult education is providing many ways for you to connect to your community.  Be looking for our huge schedule of winter programming to appear in the Houlton Pioneer Times in December, and remember, When you Think of Getting Ready for College, Think College Transitions.

Certified Nurse Aide Assistant (C.N.A.) graduates of the Region Two Adult Education program held their pinning and graduation program on Friday, December 12, 2014 at the Houlton Higher Education Center.  They were congratulated on their accomplishments by C.N.A. Instructor Kim Fox, R.N. and by Adult Ed Director Otis Smith. Region Two Director Dave Keaton presented them with their certificates of completion, and Gardiner Healthcare Administrator Amy Hocking thanked them for the valuable service that they would be providing to others.  The graduates were then “pinned” by a member of their family.  All of the graduates have completed over 200 hours of classroom and clinical work and have successfully passed the C.N.A. certification exam making them eligible to be placed on the state of Maine Nurse Registry.  The C.N.A. program is a cooperative effort of education and local healthcare providers.  Winter C.N.A. classes start on January 6, 2015.  For more information about C.N.A. training contact Adult Education at 521-3100 ext.5.
